Some News To Share and an Award

If you have been reading my blog for a while you will remember my post about the neighbor from hell and if you didn't read it, it's worth a quick peruse here. Well, back when we moved to this new unit we signed a new lease that was for 6 months. That would be the end of October. Since I'm still not working and our hole is getting deeper we are not renewing the lease. So after Sunday I will be back on dial-up unless I can get to the library and use their wi-fi. This means that I will most likely not be able to do as many Entrecard drops as usual and I may be a bit sparse on the posts too.

I also wanted to add that despite this I will be glad to not be near the nut and his nutty mother. The way our complex is set up you come in the gate and the drive is a U shape. We still have to drive by the old unit and theirs to get to the new one. Last week the husband was coming in from work and nutty mom was standing at the door and when she saw my husband she proceeded to flip him the bird. Often when I see a nutty family like this I wonder why Eugenics never caught on (JOKE..sort of). The idea of just being in the same complex as these people has never really sat well with me and so I will be glad to be anywhere that isn't near them. As my husband says, the best revenge on people like that is to live well.

My next bit of news is that on November 15th I will be putting all my online shops into "Vacation" mode. I'm not closing them for good, I just need to take some time away from the fees at Etsy and the stress of all of that when I'm still sitting here without a job. I realize it probably is a silly time to do such a thing since it is getting near the Holidays and people may be looking for gifts but to retain my sanity and hopefully have a decent nights sleep...I gotta do it. I'll still be blogging but as I say it may be less frequently.

Now to this absolutely wonderful award I received from Dori over at From A Yellow House In England. In Dori's words about this award, "I like this award because to me, reaching out to new friends is one of the best things about blogging" and I couldn't agree more. If you have never been to Dori's blog you should stop by. I enjoy it because I totally relate to her being an American living in England...well, I'm not right now but I was. So now I want to bestow this award on a few of my new friends. Here is my list though I'm sure I'll leave someone off.

Ann's Snap Edit & Scrap
Beaded Tail
Lenox Knits
Nfall2rt Design Studio
PJ's Prose
The Beadings and Buttonings of Random Creative
AskCherLock

Thanks again to Dori and all my new blogging friends that I've made since the beginning of the year when I started on this adventure. It makes it all worth it!

Neighbor From Hell Update

Well, it didn't quite go as we had planned but we have moved. We were going to move to a unit in the middle but on Thursday night when my husband got in from work we went to take a few things over and as we were about to go up the stairs an older gentleman introduces himself as our new neighbor. Then when we tell him we are just moving from the other unit he says "Oh you're the ones from X unit" in a very snotty tone and also how did he know which unit we were in? Great, moving next door to a gossip. So, we go upstairs and walk in and the music from below is so loud the room was shaking! I almost started crying as there is no way I could live with that. I like music as much as anybody and if I'm at a concert and it's loud that is fine but NOT in an apartment. We even went downstairs to introduce ourselves and this woman did not even turn the music down when we were at the door. She then gave us some BS that the walls are thin....omg no walls are THAT thin.

So, we go back to the our apartment and I phone the landlord and of course he is not available so I leave a message saying that we are just not moving there either. I'd rather have nutty down below than loud music. Worst thing is that Thursday I was running back and forth to get the lease, signed it, went back to drop it off then had to go back to get keys. No wonder I have gray hair!!

Friday morning, I go to return the keys and later the landlord finally calls. He has two other units available and I go to look at those. One is on the ground floor which we aren't really interested in and the other is at the front of the complex and on a corner which I really like. SO, we have now moved as far as possible from nutty and are on a corner. I'm still trying to sort through everything and am almost done but it was so worth it in the end. Even on Saturday when we were moving all the furniture, one of the guys helping out was on our balcony and nutty came out and looks up with a sneer and the moving guy says "Hey, how's it going?". Did nutty respond? NO he just gives the guy a dirty look. Good riddance!! We introduced ourselves to the guy below us and he seems like a pretty nice and quiet guy. I think he's married although his wife wasn't there at the time.

So thanks for all your comments, it is much appreciated. I firmly believe that if something isn't working in your life than you need to change it even if it is costly such as this has been.

Neighbors From Hell!

Ever have one? I'm sure the majority of you have, at least once in your life. Right now my husband and I have one. Fortunately we are in an apartment/condo and the company who we rent from has other units available in the same complex. This weekend we will be moving about 100 yards away to get away from this guy. Often times with nutty neighbors it is impossible to deal with them in a rational way because THEY are not rational. This is exactly the case with our neighbor.

We had received a letter in the mail from the Homeowners Association about a complaint from a neighbor regarding our excessive noise at late hours. Well, since my husband has to get up for work at 7am we generally aren't up real late, 11pm is around when we go to bed. My husband went down to ask if they knew anything about the letter and of course it had nothing to do with him. As most of you know, I'm unemployed and so obviously I'm at home all day. I spend most of my time sitting on the computer but of course I do household chores too. Now, I'm 5 feet tall and though I could lose 5-10 pounds I certainly don't think I'm overweight but according to our neighbor I walk around all day like a herd of elephants. So over the past few days I have literally been tip-toeing around so as not to disturb them below. Apparently this was the guy's only complaint about us and that is not excessive noise and nor is it in the late hours. Oh and I should add that he believes I'm doing it on purpose to pi$$ him off! Like I said, NOT rational.

While it is a pain to have to pack everything up and move from a place that I really like to another because of someone else, my husband and I both agree that life is too short to be in a situation like this. Why be unhappy and always worried about being harassed by the HOA and the nutty neighbor? Moving what personal possessions we have is a small price to pay. With my mother-in-law(who is 81) coming to visit in May it is also a better idea to not subject her to any of this. One funny thing is that despite the other unit we are moving into being slightly smaller than the current one and in between as opposed to on a corner as we are now, it is MUCH nicer as far as the interior goes.
