Just Sharing A Few Photos

I hope everyone is enjoying the Labor Day Holiday, at least those in the US who celebrate it. I finally have been able to hop onto the computer. I figured that since there was so much sport on TV that the husband wouldn't be on it much....boy, was I wrong! I had it for about 5 minutes this morning and I finally said to him about 4pm "Can I PLEASE have the computer???"....lol. Much as I love him being home for the day it will be nice tomorrow when he is back at work and I can just sit on the computer as much as I want.

I also wanted to update my blog so you didn't have to keep looking at that expired Treasury. I didn't have anything so I thought I'd at least share a few photos that I took at Red Rock Canyon during our last visit. The bottom photo I actually adjusted to black and white in Picasa as I thought it made the rocks look really cool. Plus, I'm a huge black and white fan. Two of my most favorite photographers are Ansel Adams and Man Ray. Years ago, when we were living in London they were having a Man Ray exhibit at The Barbican which I was able to check out. It was brilliant. The Bellagio had an exhibit of Ansel Adams work a while back, sadly I didn't get to go as by the time I heard about it it was almost over. I really hate fighting the traffic on the Strip so I skipped it. Next time, no excuses.

  2. Lovely photos of Red Rock Canyon! Sorry to hear you missed the Ansel Adams exhibit at the Bellagio but I understand wanting to stay away from the traffic on the strip. We always use the backroads such as Frank Sinatra Blvd since the tourists haven't discovered that yet so it's quick to get down there.

  4. Yes, good choice on the B&W; nice job. Which of the many and various places named Red Rock Canyons is this?? Doesn't look familiar.

  5. Traffic on the strip...sure hear and understand that; but you cheated yourself of one of the advantages of living there. Next time, do yourself a favor. Heck, save your money and take a cab so you don't have to drive.

I know lots of folks like black and white. But, nature isn't black and white so I tend to leave mine as I photographed them. Though I do love portraits that are black and white.

    Nice pics.

  7. First of all, thanks for all the compliments. Second, Mark I'm not sure which part of Red Rock it is but I think it may be the third stop on the drive. I was snapping so many shots I didn't really pay attention to exactly where they were taken.

Sandy, true about nature and normally I wouldn't have changed it but I really liked the idea of changing it over so the rocks stood out a bit more. They seemed to blend in in the original which was in color.

  8. Hi Theresa!

just wanted to thank you for your advice on my blog. Artfire sounds interesting, and the Rapidcart feature is a great marketing tool. I'll definitely be looking into this!

  14. For 9-9-09 I got my first ride on a motorcycle. Boss insisted that if I was gonna write about Harleys, I should ride one.. so we cruised out to Redrock on his Street Glide. It was a lot of fun, except I looked like a bug-eyed egg head who stole his grandpa's jacket in my borrowed riding gear. :)

Nice pics from a great place!
